Since it will be a mid-life facelift of the car, the new Honda Amaze 2016 might receive only cosmetic updates and not mechanical.
Honda Cars India has officially announced to launch the 2016 Amaze facelift on March 3, 2016. Since the company has started dispatching new units of the Honda Amaze 2016 to its dealers, deliveries might begin soon after the launch.
Since it will be a mid-life facelift of the car, the new Honda Amaze 2016 might receive only cosmetic updates and not mechanical. As per the spy shots doing rounds on the internet, the new Amaze will receive all-new bumpers and updated grille. Save for these changes, the car will look more or less similar to the current model. The vehicle’s cabin, however, is expected to receive some significant changes such as a new dual-tone dashboard, new instrument panel and touchscreen audio video navigation (AVN) system. With these changes, the 2016 Honda Amaze’s cabin will look quite similar to the Mobilio which too is based on the Brio platform.
As mentioned above, the Honda Amaze 2016 facelift might not receive any mechanical changes. It is expected to come with the same engine options – a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. While the petrol engine of the Honda Amaze develops 87bhp and 109Nm, the diesel unit is good for 99bhp and 200Nm. Two transmission options – a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic – will also continue to be on offer.
Since it will only be a facelift, we don’t expect it to cost much higher than the current model.
