The new Ford Endeavour was launched in India today in the price range of Rs 24.75 lakh – Rs 29.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai with Octroi). With an all-new design, newly developed platform and several class-leading features, the all new Ford Endeavour is a more up-market product than the outgoing model. The new Endeavour will rival Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and other premium SUVs in the Indian market.

Platform & Design
The new Ford Endeavour is built on an all-new platform – T6 – that is the same that also underpins Ford’s pick-up truck – Ranger. Similar to the discontinued model, the 2016 Endeavour is also a body-on-frame SUV with 2+3+2 seating configuration. Despite having bigger dimensions than the outgoing model, the new-generation Endeavour looks a lot sportier and more proportionate than the former.
The car features Ford’s new signature trapezoidal grille, sweptback headl-lamps, LED daytime running lamps, all-new bumper and fog lamps. The vehicle’s side profile looks better than before thanks to the steeply inclined roofline and all-new alloy wheels that accentuate well-designed wheel arches. With new wraparound tail-lamps and horizontally-placed large chrome bar, the new Endeavour’s rear also looks different than the old-gen model that had a rather flat rear profile.
Engine specifications
The all-new Ford Endeavour has been made available in two diesel engine options – 2.2-litre TDci and 3.2-litre TDCi – with two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. While the 2.2-litre engine of the Ford Endeavour 2016 churns out 158bhp at 3,200rpm and 385Nm at 1600-2500rpm, the 3.2-litre engine is good for 197bhp at 3,000rpm and 470bhp at 1750-2500rpm.
