Ferrari 488 Pista is nearing its official debut, but before that happens we get to see what it will look like through a set of official images posted by Autocar Japan. Apart from the final production design, we now also know what the V8 supercar will be called – Pista (Italian for track). With styling that is much more aggressive, the 488 has also lost weight and based on what Ferrari owners are saying about the new 488 Pista at FerrariChat, Ferrari has ‘outdone themselves’. The Autocar Japan report also states that the biturbo 3.9-liter V8 engine on the new 488 Pista has been tweaked to churn out 711 hp, while the regular 488 GTB ‘only’ makes 661 hp.

The track focussed Ferrari 488 Pista is soon to be launched and will compete with the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The 488 Pista will replace the discontinued 458 Speciale.
The torque figures from the new Ferrari 488 Pista stand at 770 Nm which is 10 Nm more when compared to the 488 GTB. Speaking of losing weight, the 488 Pista tips the scale at 1,280 kg without any fluids, whereas the 488 GTB has a dry weight of 1,370 kg.

With a more power to less weight ratio, 0-100 km/h sprint in the new Ferrari 488 Pista takes 2.8 seconds, which two-tenth of a second less than the 488 GTB. It also promises a top speed of349 km/h.
Ferrari has also managed to boost the downforce on the 488 Pista by 20% using techniques learned from the GTE and F1 programmes. Other upgrades include an updated side slip angle control and a “Dynamic Enhancer” related to the supercar’s sophisticated braking system. Autocar Japan report also says the Ferrari 488 Pista will be priced at $300,000.
