Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced a dual update to its popular hatchback, the Toyota Glanza, reinforcing its focus on safety and value for customers. Effective immediately, all variants of the Glanza will now come with six airbags as standard, thus offering enhanced safety for both the driver and passengers. This move aligns with Toyota’s commitment to safety and comes as a strong value proposition in the premium hatchback segment. Starting from Rs 6.90 lakh, ex-showroom, it goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and recently launched Tata Altroz.
Toyota Glanza: New exterior package
Toyota is offering a limited exterior package called Prestige Edition till July 31. To enhance Glanza’s style, this accessory package includes several dealer-fitted accessories like premium door visors, body side moulding with chrome and black accents, rear lamp garnish, chrome garnishes for ORVMs and fenders, a rear skid plate, illuminated door sills, and lower grille garnish.
Toyota Glanza: Features
The Toyota Glanza gets segment-leading features such as a 9-inch infotainment system, a Head-Up Display (HUD), a 360-degree camera, and over 45 connected features. It also gets LED projector headlights and sporty-looking 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the two-tone cabin is spacious, with rear air conditioning vents and an automatic temperature control. The Glanza has six airbags and a system called Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Hill Hold Assist, and a high-strength TECT body structure. The Glanza is backed by a standard 3-year/100,000 km warranty, which is extendable up to 5 years/220,000 km. This is complemented by Toyota’s signature 60-minute Express Maintenance service and round-the-clock roadside assistance.
Toyota Glanza: Engine Specifications
The Glanza is powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine delivering a maximum power output of 88.5 bhp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 113 Nm at 4,400 rpm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. In terms of fuel efficiency, the Glanza offers an impressive mileage of up to 22.94 kmpl (AMT) and 30.61 km/kg (CNG variant). The CNG version produces 77 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 99 Nm at 4,300 rpm, available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Glanza complies with BS6 Phase 2 emission norms and features a 37-litre fuel tank.
