All SUVs are available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations and for manual or automatic transmission options barring the Hector Plus. The newcomer, the 2024 Alcazar diesel, is priced from Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 21.55 lakh, ex-showroom. The 6-seater variant starts at Rs 21 lakh and comes exclusively with an automatic transmission. In comparison, the XUV 700 7-seater starts at Rs 14.99 lakh, the Safari at Rs 15.49 lakh, and the Hector Plus, offering both 6 and 7-seater options, starts at Rs 17.30 lakh, ex-showroom. Notably, the XUV700, which leads the segment, is the most economical entry-level model among the four SUVs.

Alcazar vs XUV700 vs Safari vs Hector Plus: Engine Specs
The Alcazar is powered by the tried-and-tested 1.5-litre diesel engine which is also available in the Creta and the Venue. It has an output of 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque and is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter. The XUV700’s 2.2-litre is the most powerful engine among the four. It produces 182 bhp and 450 Nm for the 6-speed automatic and 360 Nm for the 6-speed manual. The XUV700 is the only SUV in this segment that also comes with an all-wheel-drive option. The Safari gets a 168 bhp 2-litre engine with 350 Nm of torque and is paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter. Lastly, the MG Hector Plus is also powered by the same 2-litre diesel as the Safari, which is sourced from Stellantis, and has identical power out. Unlike the Safari, the Hector Plus is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.Â
