BYD has officially started accepting bookings for the Sealion 7 in India from 18 January 2025. Interested buyers can book the same at a token amount of Rs 70,000 while BYD will contribute the same amount towards the booking. This offer is valid till 17 February 2025.
BYD India has also announced special benefits for the first 70 customers of the Sealion 7 under the promotional booking offer. Additionally, there’s a 7-year/ 1,50,000km warranty and a complimentary 7kW AC home charger with free installation. Currently, BYD offers three EVs in India namely eMax 7, Atto 3, and Seal.
After making its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 last month, it has now come to light that prices for the upcoming electric sedan will be unveiled on 17 February 2025. Deliveries of the first 70 units of the fully-electric crossover will begin from March 7. Test drives for the all-electric crossover have begun as units of the same start reaching BYD dealerships across the country.

BYD Sealion 7: Battery, Range and Motor specs
The battery-powered crossover will be available in two trims: Premium and Performance. The former will be offered in a single-motor, rear-wheel drive configuration whereas the latter will come in a dual-motor, all-wheel drive configuration. Both variants will be equipped with a 82.5 kWh battery pack with BYD’s patented blade cell technology.
The Premium variant claims a range of 567 km whereas the Performance trim promises a range of 542 km on a single charge. The former kicks out 309 bhp and 380 Nm of torque whereas the latter dishes out 524 bhp and 690 Nm of peak torque. As for performance, the RWD variant sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds whereas the AWD variant does the same in 4.5 seconds.

BYD Sealion 7: Features & Safety
Like a typical BYD, the Sealion 7 is loaded to the gills with features. It gets a large 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen display mounted on a black glass panel along with a digital driver’s display. Other feature highlights include a 4-spoke multifunction steering wheel, ventilated front seats, 12-speaker audio system, a head-up display (HUD), ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, head-up display (HUD), electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, etc.
In terms of safety, the Sealion 7 comes with 11 airbags, 360-degree parking camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill hold control, and front and rear parking sensors to name a few. It also comes with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that comprises features like forward collision alert, blind spot detection, lane departure assist and more. Another significant feature offered in Sealion 7 is vehicle-to-load (V2L) function for powering external devices via the car’s battery.
