BYD launched the Seal electric sedan yesterday at an offensive introductory price of Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom). The Chinese EV brand has now announced that it has received over 200 bookings in the span of less than 24 hours.
With its recent nomination as a finalist for ‘World Car of the Year’ at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show, and its partnership with the UEFA EURO 2024, this electric sedan has further entrenched its prowess and capabilities.
Speaking on this achievement, Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India said: “We are overwhelmed by the incredible response from customers in India. This demonstrates the growing appetite for luxurious and high-performance electric vehicles in India.”
As a further benefit to customers in India, BYD India has introduced a slew of high value offers for those booking the BYD SEAL by March 31, 2024. Customers who book within the given period will be entitled to benefits like a 7 kW charger installed at home, 3 kW portable charging box, vehicle-to-load power supply unit, 6-year roadside assistance, and one complimentary inspection service.

BYD Seal is offered in three variants – Dynamic at Rs 41 lakh, Premium Rs 45.55 lakh and Performance Rs 53.00 ( all prices ex-showroom). These variants and their pricing reflect BYD’s relentless effort to provide cutting-edge electric vehicles at competitive prices, ensuring accessibility for a wider range of consumers in India.
This high-performance electric sedan features Cell to Body (CTB) and intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC) technologies, and is based on the e-Platform 3.0. With optional rear-wheel and all-wheel drive setups, Seal EV can do a 0-100 km/h acceleration run in just 3.8-seconds for the top-spec Performance variant. Further, it offers an impressive range of 650km for the mid-spec Premium variant.
