German carmaker BMW has launched the diesel version of the 7 Series, 740d M Sport, and the i7 M70 xDrive in India, priced at Rs 1.81 crore and Rs 2.50 crore, respectively. The BMW 740d M Sport is assembled locally at BMW’s facility in Chennai, while the BMW i7 M70 xDrive will be a CBU.
The all-new BMW 740d M Sport is available in the following colours – Oxide Grey, Mineral White, Black Sapphire, and BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue. The BMW i7 M70 xDrive is available in the two-tone paintworks along with BMW Individual paintwork as standard – Black Sapphire Roof or Oxide Grey Roof paintwork are possible with BMW Individual Paintwork of customer’s choice.
BMW i7 M70 xDrive

The all-electric BMW i7 M70 xDrive is the first all-electric M car from BMW and uses a twin motor setup with a 101.7kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which helps deliver 641bhp and 1015Nm of torque, making it the most powerful electric BMW ever. With this setup, BMW claims a range of 560km.
Speaking about the design, the i7 M70 xDrive gets M-styled bumpers, side skirts, mirrors, alloy wheel design, and a rear spoiler. The car also gets Swarovski crystal headlights, a blacked-out front grille and blue M callipers. Inside, the vehicle gets an M leather-wrapped steering wheel and roof liners, alongside a dual screen setup, ventilated seats with massage function, a rear seat theatre screen, and more.
BMW 740d M Sport
The new BMW 740d M Sport joins its petrol sibling, the 740i, and is powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine that makes 282bhp and 650Nm of torque paired to an 8-speed gearbox. The engine gets a mild hybrid system it can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 6 seconds.
