BMW has become the second luxury carmaker in India to announce its annual price hike for 2025. From 1 January 2025, prices for all BMW models including locally assembled and fully-imported CBU models will cost up to 3 percent higher. The German marque has an extensive range of models offered for the Indian market.
BMW India price hike
The range of locally-produced BMW cars include 2 Series Gran Coupe (priced from Rs 43.90 lakh), 3 Series Long Wheelbase (Rs 60.60 lakh), 5 Series Long Wheelbase (Rs 72.9 lakh), 7 Series Long Wheelbase (Rs 1.82 crore), X1 (Rs 49.90 lakh), X3 (Rs 72.50 lakh), X5 (Rs 97 lakh), X7 (Rs 1.3 crore), and M340i (Rs 74.90 lakh). The locally-assembled CKD modes are rolled out of BMW’s Chennai-based facility.
Besides the locally assembled models, BMW also offers fully-imported models including i4 (Rs 72.50 lakh), i5 (Rs 1.2 crore), i7 (Rs 2.03 crore), iX (Rs 1.40 crore), Z4 (Rs 90.90 lakh), M2 Coupe (Rs 99.90 lakh), M4 Competition (Rs 1.53 crore) and CS (Rs 1.89 crore), M8 (Rs 2.44 crore), XM (Rs 2.6 crore) and the recently launched M5 (Rs 1.99 crore).
 BMW hasn’t officially revealed the exact reason for this hike but we suspect like its German counterpart– Mercedes— the Bavarian brand cites increased commodity prices, higher logistics expenses driven by persistent inflationary pressures as the primary reasons for the latest price hike. Currently, BMW Group India has over 80 touchpoints in the Indian market. The total number of employees at BMW Group India is 650.
