The BMW Group and Dassault Systemes have commenced a long-term strategic partnership aimed at developing BMW Group’s forthcoming engineering platform, with the core integration of Dassault Systemes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
BMW Group and Dassault Systemes: Software and Platform
In an industry, where speed to market is critical, the partnership between Dassault Systemes and BMW Group underscores the importance of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in facilitating efficient product delivery.
Through virtual twin experiences, the platform enables seamless collaborations across the enterprise and introduces data-driven strategies to manage the increasing complexity of connected and autonomous vehicle engineering.
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform will allow engineering teams to streamline component reuse, and navigate the complexities of vehicle variability. BMW Group will transition data from the existing IT solutions and extend the engineering platform to encompass additional disciplines such as modeling and solutions.

Julien Hohenstein, Vice-President, digitalization at BMW Group Research and Development, said, “ We will only optimize our engineering process if we think digital, work connected, and rely on integrated data. For the BMW Group, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform will support this approach and help to reach a higher level of quality in our processes.”
Laurence Montanari, Vice President, Transportation & Mobility Industry, Dassault Systemes, also shared his thoughts by stating, ”BMW Group and Dassault Systemes are technologically driven companies that are entering a new era of shared innovation, to deliver best-in-class products.” he continued by saying, “With the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, BMW Group can rethink its engineering development process to deliver the most personalized and sustainable experiences to its customers.”
The strategic partnership between Dassault Systemes and BMW Group builds upon their longstanding collaboration, which has yielded advancements in production planning, part design, and manufacturing efficiency.
