Maruti Suzuki XL6

The six-seater XL6 may not have been a runaway success like most vehicles in the Maruti Suzuki stable, but is does offer Captain seats for the second row. The XL6 is powered by the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with an output of 101.6 bhp at 6000 rpm and 136.8 Nm at 4400 rpm. It offers two transmission options — a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The XL6 is also available in CNG. The petrol range starts from Rs 11.71 lakh to Rs 14.71 lakh while the sole CNG trim is for Rs 12.66 lakh, all ex-showroom.Â
Kia Carens

The Carens has been a steady performer for Kia as it regularly churns over 5,000 units. The Kia MPV is available in three engine trims — 1.5 NA petrol with 113 bhp, 158 bhp 1.5 turbo petrol and 1.5 diesel with 114 bhp. The Carens starts from Rs 10.60 lakh, but the Captain seats version is only available in the petrol versions priced from Rs 11.99 lakh and goes all the way to Rs 19.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
Mahindra Scorpio ClassicÂ

The older-generation Scorpio or the Classic continues to be one of the most value-for-money SUVs in the market. The Scorpio Classic offers second-row independent seats only in the top-the-line variant, the S11, which is optional. The last row only gets seats facing each other. The Scorpio Classic is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine which makes 130 bhp at 3750 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 1600 – 2800 rpm. It is only mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Scorpio Classic S11 costs Rs 17.50 lakh, ex-showroom.Â
MG Hector Plus

The Hector Plus six-seater version is available in the entry-level Style. It offers two engine options — the 1.5-litre petrol and the 2-litre diesel. The former comes with two options a 6-speed manual or a CVT, while the latter only gets a 6-speed manual. The petrol makes 141 bhp at 5000 rpm and 250 Nm torque at 1600 — 3600 rpm while the diesel makes 168 bhp at 3750 rpm and 350 Nm at 1750-2500 rpm. The Hector Plus starts from Rs 17.50 lakh to Rs 23.41 lakh, ex-showroom.Â
Mahindra XUV700

The XUV700 only offers the six-seater layout in the AX7 and AX7 Luxury trims. The Mahindra SUV is powered by either a 2-litre petrol or a 2.2-litre diesel powertrain. Both the engines offer two transmissions — a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter. The petrol makes 197 bhp and 380 Nm and diesel produces 182 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. The six-seater XUV700 starts from Rs 19.69 lakh to Rs 25.09 lakh, ex-showroom.
