Isuzu Motors India has confirmed that it will showcase its first electric mobility concept pickup truck with the unveiling of its Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) prototype, D-MAX BEV at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The battery-powered pickup truck was first unveiled at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand in March 2024.
The D-Max BEV will be the first battery-powered model to be launched by Isuzu. It will go on sale in European markets first followed by Australia, and Thailand. While Isuzu is yet to confirm a market launch for India, the D-Max BEV will most likely make its way to India sometime towards the end of 2025 or early next year.
The model to be displayed at the Bharat Mobility Expo will be the same pre-production concept as the one showcased at the Bangkok Motor Show last year. The overall design of the concept D-Max BEV looks familiar to its combustion-powered sibling. The only visible differences are the addition of blue accents on the twin-slatted front grille, and headlamps. The dual-tone alloy wheels, a massive footboard, and flared wheel arches complement its pickup truck stance.

Isuzu D-Max BEV: Powertrain specs
The Isuzu D-Max EV boasts a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery powering a robust all-wheel-drive system. This setup utilizes a twin-motor configuration with a 40 kW front motor and a more potent 90 kW rear motor, delivering a combined peak output of 175 bhp and 325 Nm of torque. This electric powertrain surpasses the current India-spec diesel D-Max in terms of horsepower by a significant 14.
In terms of performance, the D-Max EV achieves a top speed of 130 kmph. While the single-charge range remains undisclosed, the electric pickup maintains its commercial viability with a 1-ton loading capacity and a 3.5-ton towing capacity, making it suitable for diverse applications in international markets.
