
Audi is set to launch the new RS5 Coupe in India by the end of February and this information has been revealed by folks at Autocar India. The new second generation model of the Audi RS5 Coupe has been built from ground up and thanks to the all-new platform, it witnesses a weight reduction of 60 kgs when fitted with an optional carbon fibre roof. Also, the car will be bigger in size when compared to its predecessor. Another special highlight of the new Audi RS5 Coupe is that it will feature the company’s all-new design language and for this reason, you can expect to see one of the most aggressive Audis rolling out till date. Having said that, the new Audi RS5 coupe will get a new single frame grille up front along with new design bumpers and quattro blisters that complement the muscular wheel arches. The company’s patented matrix LEDs will come with the new RS5 coupe as well. New air intakes along with 19-inch wheels are other add-ons on the car. The new Audi RS5 coupe will be offered with optional 20-inch wheels as well.
Another prominent change is the engine. The new 2018 Audi RS5 coupe sources its power from a 2.9-litre turbocharged V6 engine that is good for churning out a maximum power output of 450 hp along with a peak torque of 600 Nm. This is the same engine that runs the Porsche Panamera as well. The mill has better outputs when compared to the previous 4.2-litre V8 mill. The new Audi RS5 coupe will come with a quattro all-wheel drive system as standard. The gearbox will be an eight speed automatic unit as compared to the seven speed transmission previously.
The company claims that the new Audi RS5 Coupe will do 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds, courtesy lesser weight and bump in torque. The top speed has been restricted to 250 kmph but if you wish you go even fast, the dynamic pack will help you achieve 280 kmph. The cabin of the new Audi RS5 coupe has also been revised and it now features a flat bottom steering, stainless steel pedals, alcantara accents and a lot more. The price of the new Audi RS5 coupe is expected to come out at close to Rs 1.25 crore (ex-showroom).
