Aston Martin has launched the all-new Vantage in India at a base price of Rs 3.99 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The iconic British supercar brand is the third new launch of the year following DB12 Coupe and Volante. The luxury sports car traces its roots back to 1950 when “Vantage” first signified an enhanced engine for the DB2.

The Vantage nameplate became a model designation in 1964 with the DB5 and in the early 1970s the first standalone Vantage was launched. Deliveries for the all-new Vantage will commence in the fourth quarter of 2024. In its latest avatar, the super sports coupe has been extensively restyled on the exterior in addition to significant interior revisions.

Aston Martin Vantage: Powertrain & Performance

Powering the Aston Martin Vantage is the same Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine which now dishes out 658 bhp and 800 Nm of peak torque. For reference, the outgoing Vantage pumped out 504 bhp and 685 Nm. This motor is paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox sending power to the rear wheels via an electromechanical limited-slip differential.

The final-drive ratio has also been reduced resulting in improved acceleration. Coming to performance, the Vantage can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. The British sports car can clock a top speed of 325 kmph. There are five selectable drive modes on offer namely Wet, Sport, Sports Plus, Track, and Individual, that alter drivetrain, steering, and chassis calibrations.
