Alfa Romeo has plans to bring its new 6C sportscar by the year 2020. Motor1.com has recently reported that the new Alfa Romeo 6C will be placed above the 4C and it will be bigger and expensive than the latter. The upcoming Alfa Romeo 6C is expected to arrive as a rear wheel drive coupe. The publication has cited its source as absolute trustworthy and legit and has gone ahead to say that their source has learned that Fiat Chrysler Automobile has approved the production of a new Alfa Romeo sportscar that will take its shape as the 6C. The new Alfa Romeo 6C will make its global debut at one of the major auto shows either this year or in 2019. The production of this car will commence during the initial phase of 2020. Further confirming the bit, Pogea Racing has gone ahead with a Facebook post that confirms the making of the supercar. The new Alfa Romeo 6C will most likely source its power from a 2.9-litre, bi-turbo V6 engine that is good for producing a maximum power output of 505 hp.
This is not the first time that Alfa Romeo has used the ‘6C’ term for its sports cars. For those not in the know, 6C was used by Alfa Romeo between the period 1927 and 1954 for its cars. 6C stands for six-cylinders in the engine just like 4C and 8C cars where the machines get four-cylinder and eight-cylinder engines respectively.
Besides the new Alfa Romeo 6C, the company is also working on a large production SUV that will arrive sometime towards 2020. The vehicle will be the company’s biggest production SUV till date and it will take on the likes of some popular names like the Mercedes GLE and the BMW X5. The seven-seater SUV will most likely receive a 2.0-litre engine with a mild hybrid system.
