After Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has roped in versatile actor Pankaj Tripathi as its new brand ambassador. Known for his portrayal of a wide range of characters in Mirzapur, Gangs of Wasseypur, and Massan, Tripathi is one of the most known and cherished faces in the Indian film industry.
Speaking on the new partnership, Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, HMIL, said, “At HMIL, we celebrate stories of progress and inspiration. Hyundai recently celebrated its 29th Anniversary in India.. Established on May 06, 1996, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is currently the second largest player in the country having sold over 12.7 million vehicles — including more than 3.7 million exports to over 150 countries.
Hyundai marked the beginning of its journey in India with the establishment of a manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. Since its inception, the facility has grown steadily, becoming a center of manufacturing excellence. Operations officially commenced in September 1998 with the launch of Hyundai’s first fully integrated car manufacturing plant outside South Korea.
Earlier this year, Hyundai launched its first EV in India – Creta Electric – at a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes with two battery pack options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh that offer a single-charge range of 390 km and 470 km, respectively. Besides, this Hyundai is also working on the next-gen Venue. Test mules of the same have already been spied on multiple occasions recently. It is expected to make its global debut sometime later this year.
