Volvo is gearing up to launch the facelifted XC90 in India. The updated version of the flagship SUV made its global debut in September 2024. The Swedish carmaker will launch the updated iteration of XC90 on 4 March 2025. Here’s a look at all the key highlights expected to be offered with the facelifted XC90.
2025 Volvo XC90: Exterior
As expected with the Scandinavian carmaker, the exterior of 2025 Volvo XC90 will witness subtle and evolutionary updates over the outgoing model. The most prominent exterior update is the redesigned front fascia featuring a new grille flanked by reshaped LED headlamp clusters. However, Volvo has retained the signature Thor’s hammer LED element. The reprofiled front bumper houses a revised air dam.
The side profile of the XC90 remains unchanged but will receive a set of freshly designed alloy wheels although the size of the wheels are expected to be similar to the current-spec model (21 inches). At the rear, the overall appearance is familiar, barring minute changes like a new bumper with a horizontal chrome strip running across it, and slightly redesigned LED taillamps.
2025 Volvo XC90: Interiors
Inside, the facelifted Volvo XC90 will continue with a minimalist design and a 7-seater layout. Visual highlights inside the cabin will include a 3-spoke steering wheel, a dual-tone theme and leatherette seat upholstery. Expect the facelifted XC90 to come with a lot more sustainable materials inside.
2025 Volvo XC90: Features
In terms of amenities, the 2025 Volvo XC90 will come with all the bells and whistles including a 12.3-inch driver’s display, an 11.2-inch freestanding touchscreen, a 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system, a coloured heads-up display (HUD), powered seats with ventilation and massage functions, a panoramic sunroof, and four-zone climate control to name a few.
Safety of occupants will be taken care of by multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera setup, hill start and hill descent control and an electronic parking brake. The latest iteration of the full-size luxury SUV will also benefit from level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with features like lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, etc.
2025 Volvo XC90: Powertrain specs
Globally, the facelifted Volvo XC90 comes with two engine options: a 2-litre turbo-petrol unit with 48V mild-hybrid tech and a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine with plug-in-hybrid tech. The detailed specs of both powertrains are mentioned below.

Both powertrains come with an all-wheel drive configuration as standard. However, the India-spec model is expected to come with the 2.0-litre mild-hybrid powertrain only.
