Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the facelifted Altroz tomorrow. Ahead of its launch, the homegrown carmaker has revealed almost every key detail about the updated Altroz, barring the price of course. Tata Altroz competes against Hyundai i20 which also received a small update a few days back. With both premium hatchbacks offering a decent set of features, let us look at which car offers better equipment than the other.
2025 Tata Altroz vs Hyundai i20: Common features
Both the Altroz facelift and i20 have a long set of common features. This includes LED headlamps and taillamps with welcome function and LED DRLs, 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Hill-start assist control (HAC), cruise control, rear view camera, Push Button start stop, electric sunroof, 16-inch alloy wheels, height adjustable driver’s seat, rear AC vents, connected car tech, automatic climate control, and voice-enabled electric sunroof.

2025 Tata Altroz vs Hyundai i20: Feature differences
There are some features which are offered in one but not in the other. For instance, features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, a 7-speaker audio system from Bose is offered in Hyundai i20 but not in Altroz.
On the other hand, the updated Tata Altroz comes with features like ambient lighting, 360-degree surround camera, air purifier, in-built navigation on instrument console, flush-fitting door handles, and wireless smartphone charger which are not offered in the i20. Further, the Indian hatchback offers a more modern and larger infotainment system and the iRA connected car suite offers more features than the BlueLink unit offered by Hyundai.

2025 Tata Altroz vs Hyundai i20: Powertrain
Hyundai i20 is currently offered only in a single engine option: a 1.2-litre Kappa naturally aspirated which can be paid with either a 5-speed manual transmission or IVT automatic. The former has an output of 82 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 114.7 Nm at 4,200 rpm. The automatic has the same torque output but churns out 88 bhp at 6,000 rpm.
Tata Altroz comes with a wide range of engine and transmission options including a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel mill. In fact, Tata Altroz is the only hatchback on sale in India that comes with a diesel engine. Tata also offers the flexibility of a CNG kit which Hyundai doesn’t offer in the i20 yet.
