Tata Motors has been teasing the updated Altroz for a while now, revealing key details about the vehicle’s design and interior. The upcoming Altroz will get an updated look, and will come packed with features as well. However, one aspect that has not been highlighted much is the engine.
Tata Altroz facelift — Engine specifications
While the exterior of the Tata Altroz facelift and the interior see updates, there won’t be changes under the hood. The Tata Altroz will continue with the same engine options — a 1.2-litre petrol engine in two states of tune and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Gearbox options will also remain unchanged with a manual and a dual-clutch automatic on offer.
One version of the 1.2-litre petrol engine makes 87bhp and 115Nm of peak torque, while being paired to a manual gearbox, while the same engine is also available in a CNG format, making 72bhp. The other petrol engine on offer is a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit that makes 118bhp and 170Nm of torque.
The third powerplant on offer is a diesel unit that is offered only by Tata Motors as all the competition has moved away from diesel hatchbacks. The 1.5-litre diesel mill makes 89bhp and 200Nm of torque with the help of a manual gearbox, which returns a fuel efficiency of 23.64kmpl.
