Tata Motors has launched the Altroz, at a rather attractive introductory starting price of Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The Altroz gets some noticeable visual updates to go with some interesting features added to the equipment. The latest iteration of Altroz gets many segment-leading attributes over its direct competitors like Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Toyota Glanza.

1. 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainmentÂ
The Altroz facelift comes with a new and larger 10.25-inch touchscreen which is more advanced than the 7-inch unit offered previously. This Harman-sourced infotainment unit now comes equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with AudioWorX’s customizable sound modes.
2. 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
The new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster offered by Altroz is the largest in its segment. Moreover, this unit now comes with a built-in navigation system, blind spot monitor, etc. which is seen on the Nexon and Curvv. Previously, Altroz offered semi-digital instrumentation.
3. Flush-fit door handles
A feature which is usually seen in more premium cars, the Tata Altroz is the first hatchback in India to offer flush-fit door handles.
4. Only Diesel hatchback
Tata Altroz continues to be the only hatchback in India to come with a diesel engine option. The 1.5-litre unit in Altroz pushes out 99 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque, making Altroz the torquiest in its segment. This diesel engine is only offered with a 5-speed manual. Moreover, the Altroz is the only hatchback to get dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
5. Best in Safety
The Altroz facelift is packed with standard safety features like six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), ISOFIX anchorages for child seats, height-adjustable seat belts, reverse parking sensors with a camera, rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera and ISOFIX anchorages for child seats. Moreover, Altroz is the only hatchback to be awarded a 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP.
