After making its global debut in October last year, the second-gen Skoda Kodiaq is all set to hit the Indian roads soon. An uncamouflaged test mule of the second-gen Kodiaq recently got caught on camera on Indian road. The premium D-segment SUV was caught testing on the Mumbai-Pune expressway.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Exterior design

As revealed in October 2024, the new-gen Kodiaq gets an evolutionary upgrade over the existing model, although it does look boxier than the current Kodiaq. Up front, the face looks similar to the present model featuring the signature Skoda butterfly grille with all-black vertical slats. The grille is flanked by redesigned split lighting setup housing a wider headlamp cluster and LED DRL.

Front bumper is reprofiled thanks to a sleeker all-black air-dam. Further, a keen eye will notice a radar sensor at the front indicating the addition of Advanced Driver Assistance feature. Side profile remains more or less similar with subtle creases, although alloy wheel design is expected to be new. One significant change noticed is the longer rear overhang which could suggest longer overall length of the SUV.

At the rear, the new Kodiaq gets redesigned C-shaped LED taillights with Skoda lettering at the centre. Other visual highlights include roof-mounted spoiler, optional D-pillar trim in a unique Dark Chrome finish, and squared-off wheel arches with black claddings.

The new Kodiaq will be based on the VW Group’s MQB modular platform and will be offered as a 7-seat SUV in India. In terms of dimensions, the new Kodiaq will be 4,758mm in length, making 59mm longer than before compared to the current Kodiaq.  However, the height, width, and wheelbase of the SUV remain unchanged.
