Maruti Suzuki has launched an updated version of Grand Vitara. This comes a day after Toyota launched the updated Urban Cruiser HyRyder— the unidentical twin of Grand Vitara. Evidently the 2025 Grand Vitara gets the same set of features as the updated Urban Cruiser HyRyder.Â
The updated Grand Vitara is available in 18 variants spread across eight trims namely Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, Zeta (O), Zeta+ (O), Alpha (O) and Alpha+ (O). Prices for the updated Grand Vitara start from Rs 11.42 lakh and go up to Rs 20.68 lakh (both ex-showroom).

2025 Maruti Grand Vitara: What’s new?
Among the most prominent updates, the updated Grand Vitara now comes with six airbags as standard across all variants. he standard safety suite for the Grand Vitara also includes Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist, front and rear disc Brakes, ABS with EBD, 3-point ELR seat belts (all seats), ISOFIX child seat restraint system and more.
With the latest update, Maruti has added a new Delta+ trim to the lineup which is available with the strong hybrid powertrain option. Priced at Rs 16.99 (ex-showroom), it is now the most affordable variant with the strong hybrid powertrain option in the Grand Vitara lineup. With this update, Grand Vitara is available in five trims including the Zeta+ and Alpha+ variants, as well as the new Delta+, Zeta+ (O) and Alpha+ (O) variants.
Maruti has also added a wide array of conveniences in the updated Grand Vitara. Buyers can now opt for an electric panoramic sunroof in Zeta (O), Alpha (O), Zeta+ (O) and Alpha+ (O) variants. Earlier it was offered only with the top-spec Alpha variant in the non-hybrid version and from the Zeta+ variant in the hybrid version.
Other updates included in the 2025 Maruti Grand Vitara are an 8-way driver powered seat, an electronic parking brake for automatic variants, auto purify with PM 2.5 Display, new LED cabin lamps for better interior illumination and rear door sunshades for improved cabin comfort. The updated Grand Vitara also boasts a set of new R17 precision cut alloy wheels.
2025 Maruti Grand Vitara: Updated Powertrain
Like Toyota, Maruti has also added more convenience to the Grand Vitara range by offering a 6-speed torque converter automatic with all-wheel drive. Previously, all-wheel drive variants of the mid-size SUV were only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Powering the Grand Vitara is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 102 bhp at 6000 rpm and 136.8 Nm at 4400 rpm.
The strong hybrid variants of Grand Vitara integrate a 1.5-liter three-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine with an electric motor. The petrol engine delivers 91bhp (68 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 122 Nm of torque between 4,400 and 4,800 rpm. The electric motor contributes an additional 79 bhp (59 kW) at 3,995 rpm and 141 Nm of torque from 0 to 3,995 rpm. Together, the system produces a combined output of 114 bhp (85 kW). This setup is paired with an e-CVT transmission.
