Kia has taken the covers off the facelifted EV6 in South Korea. This will be the first major update to the electric crossover ever since it made its debut back in 2021. The latest iteration of EV6 sees subtle design tweaks, interior changes, new features, and an updated powertrain over the outgoing model.

The 2025 EV6 is available in the three derivatives— Light, Earth, and GT Line. Pre-bookings for the new EV6 are currently underway while deliveries in Korea are expected to commence next month onwards.

2025 Kia EV6: What’s new?

Starting with the exterior, the 2025 Kia EV6 gets a redesigned LED headlight cluster housing new boomerang-shaped LED DRLs and sleeker twin projector lamps. The front bumper and air dam have also been revised to give the fascia a fresh appeal. Furthermore, the dual-tone alloy wheels are different. Rest of the exterior styling largely remains unchanged.

Inside the cabin, the EV6 now gets a curved twin LED display for the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. Another crucial feature addition is the new two-spoke steering wheel which gets steering wheel grip detection and fingerprint reader that allows registered drivers to start the car without a key. The infotainment system will continue to support over-the-air updates.

Another notable change is the repositoned charging outlet on the right-hand side of the tailgate. Other gizmos added to the package include a digital rear-view mirror, an improved head-up display, and an AI-based navigation setup borrowed from newer Genesis models. This system uses the front camera with graphic overlays.

2025 Kia EV6: Updated powertrain

Kia has also updated the powertrain on the 2025 EV6 range. All three variants feature a new 84kWh battery pack replacing the older 77 kWh unit. However, motor specifications on each variant are different. The base Light trim gets a single-motor, rear-wheel drive setup which kicks out 226 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. This variant offers a peak range of 494 km on a single charge, an improvement from 475 km offered in the current model.

The mid-spec Earth and top-spec GT-Line trim gets a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup which pumps out a peak output of 321 bhp and 605 Nm. While the Earth variant offers a peak range of 461 km on a single charge, the GT-Line offers a single-charge range of 432 km. Batteries on all three variants can be fast charged from 0 to 80% in just 18 minutes. Kia has also added frequency-selective dampers to the 2025 EV6 that improve ride comfort.
