Hyundai has updated the Exter in India with additional variants and features. With the latest update, prices of the subcompact SUV have gone up slightly. Prices for the updated Exter start at Rs 6.00 lakh and go up to Rs 9.53 lakh (ex-showroom). The update involves the introduction of a new SX Tech trim, re-introduction of the S+ trim, and an updated S trim.
Further, there is no mention of the Exter Knight Edition, which could suggest that the Korean carmaker has taken this variant off the list, even though it continues to be listed on the company’s official website at the time of filing this story. 2025 Hyundai Exter: What’s new?
Hyundai has introduced a new top-spec SX Tech trim in both petrol and CNG powertrains. This variant comes loaded with features such as Smart key with push button start/stop, Dashcam with Dual camera, Smart Electric Sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, and projector headlamps with bi-function.

The Korean carmaker has also re-introduced the S+ trim in petrol guise. The second top-spec trim in the Exter lineup, features highlights of the S+ variant include an electric sunroof, dual-tone alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear parking camera, rear AC vents, and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
Lastly, Hyundai has also updated the petrol-powered S variant and now comes with a host of features including rear parking camera, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist, dual-tone alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
2025 Hyundai Exter: Powertrain specs
Mechanically, the Hyundai Exter remains unchanged. Powering the Exter is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 82 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque. This motor can be opted with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The engine can also be had in a CNG guise which kicks out 68 bhp and 95 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual only.
