Skoda has officially released a teaser video of the upcoming 2024 Octavia facelift ahead of its global debut expected in the coming weeks. The teaser gives out the first glimpse of the refreshed look with subtle changes in the new Octavia. This is the first major makeover to the current fight-gen model of the premium sedan since it first made its debut in 2020.
While the Czech carmaker hasn’t dived into specifics, the teaser reveals a slightly revised version of the signature front grille and a different Skoda lettering on the bootlid. We also expect the projector LED headlight and bumpers to receive minor tweaks.
Other visual highlights such as the sharp side profile with distinct shoulder line and a fastback-style roofline are expected to be retained from the current model. Besides sedan, Skoda also offers the Octavia in an estate/wagon body style in selected international markets.
Inside the cabin, we expect the new Octavia to flaunt refreshed interiors with new colour themes on the dashboard and upholstery. However, the cabin layout is expected to remain unchanged, and so is the equipment. That said, the upcoming iteration of Octavia is likely to benefit from a larger touchscreen infotainment system.
2024 Skoda Octavia: Expected specs, India launch
As far as powertrain is concerned, Skoda is likely to offer the Octavia with two turbocharged petrol engine options– a 1.5-litre unit and a 2.0-litre unit. The former produces 148 bhp and 250 NM of peak torque, while the latter pumps out 188 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. A 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox will be a standard offering on both engines, with the option of a 6-speed manual transmission with the 1.5-litre motor in select markets.
Skoda discontinued the Octavia in India early last year due to poor sales. However, there are rumours of the Czech carmaker bringing back the premium sedan to our shores at the latter end of 2024.
