The upcoming new-gen Duster is a key product for Renault in India since it was once the French carmaker’s breadwinner in the market. Despite its absence in India, the Duster continues to shine in overseas markets with the second generation model which we never received.
Ahead of its global debut slated for 29 November, images of the third-gen Duster have leaked on the internet. The images are reportedly part of the trailer or TV commercial set to be released by Duster’s parent company– Dacia at its upcoming launch event. The latest leaked images give us a fair idea about the design of the new-gen Duster.
2024 Renault Duster: Design
Based on the Dacia Bigster concept unveiled a couple of years ago, the third-gen Duster carries over several design elements from the former. For instance, the production model will get Y-shaped LED DRLs in the headlights connected to each other across the width of the grille with illuminated elements.

The ‘DC’ logo taking centre stage will be replaced by Renault’s new double diamond logo, according to the markets in which the car is sold. The scooped-out hood, a flat front fascia, and a chunky bumper gives the SUV a more brawny appeal than the outgoing model. Dacia has retained a similar side profile for the new-gen Duster with minimal creases and lines.
However, flared wheel arches with thick square claddings accentuate the SUV’s beefy stance. At the rear, the Y-shaped theme is carried over to the taillights as well while the tailgate seems flatter than the previous model. Other visual highlights include a roof mounted spoiler, roof rails, blacked-out B and C pillars, a distinctive rear quarter glass, and diamond-cut, dual-tone alloy wheels.

Based on Renault’s CMF-B platform, the images suggest that the new-gen Duster will be larger than its predecessor. In fact, it is expected to come as a three-row version in some markets.
2024 Renault Duster: Expected features
Inside the cabin, the third-gen Renault Duster is set to receive a wide range of upgrades. It is expected to offer a modern equipment with features including a larger touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options, connected car tech, a fully digital instrument console, a revamped dashboard and centre console, etc.
2024 Renault Duster: Expected engine options
Reports indicate that Renault/Dacia will offer multiple engine options with the third-gen Duster depending on the market preferences. Options include a 1.6-litre petrol engine called Hybrid 140, which is paired with a hybrid setup that pushes out 134 bhp. The other hybrid powertrain features a 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor which dishes out around 170 horses and 205 Nm of torque.

The 1.3-litre turbo petrol unit previously offered in the Duster is expected to be flex fuel capable and could generate the same 154 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. One thing is clear that the 1.5-litre diesel dCi motor has been shelved off for good. It is yet unclear which engine option will come with the India-spec Duster.
