Mercedes Benz has taken the covers off the facelifted GLE ahead of its launch in India scheduled for November 2. The German marque has shared official images of the upcoming mid-size luxury SUV on its social media handles which made its global debut earlier in February this year.
Upon launch, the GLE will be positioned between the GLC and the flagship GLS. Let us take a look at what to expect from the upcoming India-spec 2024 Mercedes Benz GLE.
2024 Mercedes Benz GLE: Updated design, interiors
Design updates on the new Mercedes Benz GLE are subtle including reprofiled front and rear bumpers, new pixelated LED headlamps, and a new set of alloy wheels. Other prominent visual highlights include integrated LED DRLs, new single-slat grille, and black ORVMs. Overall exterior design remains unchanged.

Interiors of the GLE have also been tweaked with an updated MBUX infotainment system comprising an optional off-road package, and a new multifunction steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls borrowed from the current-gen S-Class. Besides, we expect Mercedes to update the upholstery and offer new colour themes for its interiors.
2024 Mercedes Benz GLE: Engine options
Globally, the facelifted GLE is offered with multiple engine options. In India, the SUV is likely to be available with the current set of engines including– a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine in the 450 variant, a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine in 300d trim. In addition, the existing 400d trim could be replaced by a new 450d variant which will be powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder diesel mill generating 367 bhp and 750 Nm of peak torque.

Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission and Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. All engine options will come with a 48V mild-hybrid tech consisting of an integrated starter generator that produces an additional boost of 20 bhp and 200 Nm.
2024 Mercedes Benz GLE: Expected price, rival
Upon launch, the 2024 GLE is expected to be priced around Rs 93 lakh (ex-showroom) which is slightly more expensive than the outgoing model. It goes up against the likes of Audi Q7, BMW X5, and Range Rover Velar.
