Maruti Suzuki has started accepting bookings for the 2024 Swift, which is set to launch on May 9th. Ahead of the official launch, details regarding the car’s engine specifications, fuel economy and features have been leaked. 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Engine Specs and Mileage
The new Z Series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder will make its debut in India with the new Swift. According to a report by V3Cars, the new engine will be going to be more fuel-efficient than the current K Series 1.2-litre engine. As per the leaked report, the new 1.2-litre engine will be equipped with mild hybrid technology. This makes the Swift the first hatchback to get this feature. According to the report, the 2024 Swift return a fuel economy of 25.72 kmpl, but it’s not confirmed whether this is for the manual or the automatic transmission. While the international version is mated to a CVT, the Indian market is expected to stick to the AMT, which the older model offered. Based on this, the new Swift is more fuel efficient as it returns an additional 3 kmpl more.

In terms of power output, the Z Series 3-cylinder powertrain churns out 81 bhp and 112 Nm of torque while the older K Series 4-cylinder engine produces 89 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. Hence, the power is down by 8 bhp and 1 Nm.
