At the Tokyo Motor Show, Suzuki revealed the upcoming Swift hatchback, which will make its way to India soon. The new 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift sees several changes, including mechanical updates. In its fourth generation, the Swift is expected to come to India in 2024.
The Swift gets a host of changes, some new, some as updates, and a host of technology add-ons. Here’s what you need to know about the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift design

The new Suzuki Swift’s design is an evolution of the current-gen model, featuring a new grille. The hatchback retains the same headlight design and the overall silhouette, which has made the car popular in India. The rear design also remains identical, including the tail lamps, but subtle tweaks such as the black inserts make it look fresh.
There are two notable design changes from the side, and the first one is the rear door handles, which are now on the door itself, unlike being hidden away in the door frame like the current-gen model. The other change is the wheels, which are 16-inch rims now.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift interior and features

Similar to the design, the interior does not get a radical update, however, the Swift gets a new 10-inch infotainment system, a new dash, and ventilation panels. Maruti Suzuki has carried forward the instrument cluster, steering wheel, and buttons.
There are some tech updates though, and the 2024 Suzuki Swift gets a new OS for the infotainment system, along with ADAS level 2 and other safety features. This, however, is for the Japanese-spec model.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift engine specifications
The car showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show featured a hybrid engine, however, as per a report by Autocar India, the 2024 Swift could get a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine, codenamed the Z12, which will replace the current 1.2-litre four-cylinder unit that makes 89bhp and 113Nm of torque.
The new engine is expected to be mated to a manual gearbox or an automatic unit, while the 2024 Swift itself will get a CNG option. When launched sometime next year, the car is expected to carry a slight price hike and will continue to compete with the Hyundai Grand i10 and other vehicles in the segment.
