2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift revealed: Bigger battery, N Line trim

Hyundai has increased the battery capacity of the Ioniq from 77.4 kWh to 84kWh battery.

Hyundai has announced the updated Ionic 5 will be launched. The Korean auto giant also said that the 2024 Ionic 5 will also get a sporty N Line trim. The Ioniq 5 will now be available in three variants — standard, the new N Line and N. Both the 2024 versions will hit the Korean market this month (March 2024). The new Ionic 5 is more than a nip-and-tuck job and here are all the details. 

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5: Exteriors

The updated Ioniq 5 is longer than the version of the current model. At 4,655mm, the 2024 Ioniq 5 is 20mm longer while the other external dimensions remain the same — width of 1,890mm, height of 1,605mm and wheelbase of 3,000mm. Hyundai has also improved its aerodynamics by extending the rear spoiler by 50mm.

According to the company, even the new set of wheels is more aerodynamic. The new Ioniq 5 N Line, on the other hand, has a lot more aggressive design and its souped-up bumpers and flared side panels along with wheel arches. The N Line version boasts a set of 20-inch alloy wheels like the standard one.  

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5: Interiors

The cabin of the Ioniq 5 remains spacious while the centre console houses a floating twin 12.3-inch digital screen and a host of physical buttons for better functionality. The Hyundai EV comes packed with heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a parking assist function. For convenience, the wireless phone charger has been relocated to the centre console in between the front seats along with cupholders.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5: Hardware

The Ioniq 5 sold in India is powered by a 72.6kWh battery pack and is rear-wheel drive. It has an output of 214 bhp and 250 Nm and does 0-100 kmph in 7.6 seconds. It has an ARAI-certified range of 631 km. The new 2024 Ioniq 5 gets a bigger 84kWh battery though the driving range hasn’t been revealed by the company.

In terms of driver ability and ride quality, the new Ioniq 5 gets a further tweaked shock absorber setting for easily cushioning the undulations and potholes. Reinforcements at the rear wheel and lower part of the vehicle have been strengthened further to improve its stability and agility.
