2024 Citroen C3 launched: New features, automatic transmission

The Citroen C3 has undergone its first update since its debut in 2022. The 2024 C3 range sees a price increase ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, depending on the variant. The refreshed hatchback now boasts previously absent features, including an option for an automatic transmission. Additionally, Citroen has discontinued several variants from the existing C3 lineup. Below are the details of the new equipment and pricing for the C3.

2024 Citroen C3: What’s new?

The design of the C3 remains unchanged and that’s not a bad thing as the Citroen hatchback still looks contemporary. The car now sports LED projector headlamps replacing the standard halogen lights. It continues to sport the twin LED DRLs. Previously, the indicators were tucked in the front fascia but now it’s merged with the outside rearview mirrors. Speaking of the ORVMs, they are now electrically adjustable. Citroen has finally introduced a smart key fob. 

Citroen has spruced up the cabin with features like automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system and steering-mounted controls. In terms of safety, the mid-level variant onwards comes standard with 6 airbags, ABS, ESP, Hill Hold Assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, 3-point seat belts, ISOFIX, and seat belt reminder.

2024 Citroen C3: Automatic Transmission and Specs

The C3 finally will be able with an automatic transmission. Citroen has announced that the hatchback will be mated to a 6-speed automatic torque converter like the C3 Aircross and the coupe SUV, the Basalt. It retains the two 1.2-litre petrol engines. The naturally aspirated has an output of 80 bhp and 115 Nm with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.2-litre turbo, on the other hand, will come with two power outputs and two gearboxes. The 6-speed manual churns out 108 bhp and 190 Nm while the new automatic version will pump out 108 bhp but a higher torque output of 205 Nm.

2024 Citroen C3: Price

The entry-level Live variant’s price remains the same at Rs 6.16 lakh, ex-showroom. The Feel trim is now Rs 20,000 more premium and is priced at Rs 7.47 lakh, ex-showroom. The top model Shine comes in six options and starts from Rs 8.09 lakh to Rs 9.41 lakh, ex-showroom.
