Zontes may not have set the Indian two-wheeler market ablaze primarily due to lack of marketing and its Chinese heritage but the company has plenty of offerings in its international lineup.
Falling under the umbrella of the QJ Motorcycles which owns Benelli, Keeway, and others, Zontes unveiled two new concepts at the recently concluded EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy. These new concepts showcased the company’s latest engine development which is expected to make its way into a number of models in the future.
Zontes ZT 703F, ZT 703 RR: Visual highlights
Both ZT 703F and ZT 703 RR sit on an aluminium frame and swingarm, which are designed to provide rigidity and stability while keeping the weight down low. While the ZT 703F flaunts a typical adventure tourer styling, the RR gets a traditional faired sports bike design.

Starting with the ZT 703F, the concept follows a contemporary design with a tall stance but angular bodywork. The protective bars, side quarter fairings, an oversized engine sump guard, a tall and adjustable windscreen upfront, and a stepped-up pillion seat. Further, the 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire spoked wheels hint at its adventure credentials. Zontes has also kept room for add ons such as crash guards and pannier boxes lending it the rugged look of a typical ADV.
On the other hand, ZT 703 RR gets a fully-faired bodywork with an aggressive forward-leaning riding stance. Further amplifying the sportiness are the sharp visual elements such as a twin LED headlamp setup with integrated DRLs, winglets on the side fairing, and colour co-ordinated alloy wheels.
Other visual highlights of the faired sports bike include a solo rider’s seat, a muscular fuel tank, low-set clip on handlebar and a floating tail section. These are complemented by some funky graphics to accentuate its sporty appeal. The sports bike concept rolls on 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels wrapped in 120 and 180 section tyres, respectively.
Zontes ZT 703F, ZT 703 RR: Engine specs
Powering both the concepts is a 699cc, inline 3-cylinder motor that is tuned differently in both bikes. In the ZT 703F concept, this motor pushes out 100bhp at 9,000rpm and 85 Nm of peak torque at 7,200rpm, whereas in the sportier ZT 703 RR, this motor is tuned to deliver 110 bhp at 11,000rpm and 75 Nm of torque at 8,600rpm.

There is no mention of a gearbox but given both motorcycles are designed for completely different purposes, the sprocketing will be very different. As of now, there is no clarity if these motorcycles will find their way to India but production for these concepts are expected to commence sometime next year.
