Classic Legends, is currently on a spree to update and expand its lineup under the Jawa and Yezdi. The Mahindra-owned bikemaker recently launched a new avatar of the Jawa also known as the Jawa Classic or Standard with enhanced proportions and a heavily remapped engine, which gives it the appeal of an all-new motorcycle.
The company’s next big launch will be two new all-new models under the Yezdi brand which were recently showcased to dealerships in Kerala. Images from the event have gone viral on the internet. Currently, not much is known about either of these bikes. While one bike remains unnamed, the other can be seen wearing the name ‘Streetfighter 334’.
Yezdi Roadking: What to expect?
We expect Yezdi to call the unnamed motorcycle Roadking, since it was a well known name for the brand back in the 1980s. In fact, Yezdi even holds a trademark for the same, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Classic Legends decided to resurrect this nameplate. The prototype shown at the dealership event wore a red paint scheme with a new Yezdi logo imprinted on its side panels.
It gets a single-piece seat with a chopped-off rear fender. The floating tail section gives the bike a scrambler-like look although the Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres seem to be road-biased. Interestingly, there are no taillights on offer in this bike. The fuel tank looks similar to the Yezdi Adventure, syncing in line with the trademark angular Yezdi design philosophy.
Another notable feature is a mono-shock suspension unit at the rear similar to the Yezdi Adventure. It gets a simple, round, probably a halogen headlamp unit and the instrument cluster is also equally simple with what appears to be two small round analogue units taking inspiration from the original Royal Enfield 650 twins– Interceptor and Continental GT. However, there are likely to be one or two small digital displays in there.
Yezdi Streetfighter 334: What to expect?
The other motorcycle presented at the event is the Yezdi Streetfighter 334 which was wrapped in a black paint scheme. Like the other model, the Streetfighter also gets a single-piece seat but this one gets a ribbed pattern. Further, the rear fender is chopped off with a floating tail section housing a small LED taillamp.
One key difference between the Streetfighter and the unnamed model is the use of dual shock absorbers in the former, just like the Yezdi Scrambler. Also the tyre size, profile and style are different from the units seen on the red-coloured motorcycle. Unlike the red-painted bike which gets black alloy wheels, the Streetfighter 334 rolls on wire-spoke wheels. However, the most distinct visual highlight of the Streetfighter 334 is undoubtedy the single-sided twin exhaust muffler.
New Yezdi motorcycles: Expected engine specs
It is evident that both the bikes will be powered by a familiar 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as seen on the other Yezdi and Jawa models. However, it is too soon to presume what tuning this bike will receive. All three Yezdi models on sale currently, receive the same power source but have slightly different tuning in order to lend each bike a unique character.
We expect to receive more details regarding these two motorcycles as they near the launch which should possibly happen in the coming few weeks. All Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles are manufactured by Classic Legends at the Pithampur-based facility near Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
