Suzuki has launched the updated GSX-8R in India, priced at Rs 9.25 lakh, ex-showroom. The Suzuki GSX-8R is based on the same platform as the street naked GSX-8S, but gets more fairings to keep the wind away from the rider. The latter is not sold in India, but Suzuki chose to sell the GSX-8R in India.
2025 Suzuki GSX-8R — What’s new?
The biggest update is mechanical — the engine is now OBD-2B compliant. It uses the same 776cc parallel-twin DOHC 4-valve-per-cylinder engine that makes 82bhp and 78Nm of torque with the help of a 6-speed gearbox. The 270-degree crankshaft gives the exhaust a sweet rumble while also keeping the vibrations down.
The Suzuki GSX-8R gets a whole suite of electronics such as Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) that provides advanced electronic rider assist systems including Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), the Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS), Ride-by-wire Electronic Throttle System, Bi-directional Quick Shift System, Suzuki Easy Start System and Low RPM Assist.
In terms of equipment, the updated Suzuki GSX-8R gets Showa inverted front forks, paired with a link-type mono-shock rear suspension with preload adjuster. Braking is handled by dual four-piston radial-mount front brake callipers with 310 mm outer diameter dual discs. It rides on lightweight cast aluminium wheels with Dunlop RoadSport 2 radial tyres on 17-inch wheels.
Also, in terms of colours, the 2025 Suzuki GSX-8R is offered in three choices: Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Matte Sword Silver, and Metallic Matte Black No.2.
