Royal Enfield has been spotted testing multiple motorcycles over the last few months, and the last we saw was the new Himalayan with a twin-cylinder engine, hinting that it could be powered by a 750cc engine. Now, the Interceptor has been spotted testing for the second time, raising the question again — is this the new Royal Enfield Interceptor 750?

Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 — What says so?

While nothing is concrete yet, Royal Enfield is surely developing a 750cc twin-cylinder engine and is likely to make its debut soon. The motorcycle seems to retain its familiar design, but gets a few visual changes such as a round tail lamp and round indicators, both LED units. The round headlight setup is retained, and so is the twin exhaust setup, unlike the Bear 650 and the Himalayan twin.

Other big changes include updated suspension ‚— the front telescopic forks and the rear dual shock setup are retained, but they are beefier units. Looks like Royal Enfield is addressing the ride quality complaints that have been the issue with all the new 650cc motorcycles. That said, the motorcycle also gets a dual disc brake setup for the front, hinting that the engine will make more power.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 — Engine specifications

There are no details about the engine specifications, however, it will be a twin-cylinder setup. The engine is expected to make more power and torque compared to the Interceptor 650, and we can expect the powerplant to make more than 50bhp with the help of a 6-speed gearbox.

The motorcycle is expected to get ride modes, dual-channel ABS and other safety nannies. The TFT instrument console on the bike hints at phone connectivity options along with navigation, similar to the Himalayan.
