Ampere, a subsidiary of Greaves electric mobility, is gearing up to launch its new electric scooter. Named Nexus, it is based on the Nxg concept revealed at the Auto Expo last year. The Ranipet-based electric scooter manufacturer is ramping up its social media presence ahead of the launch of the Nexus which is expected to take place next month.

The company has been constantly providing updates regarding the scooter undertaking a cross country journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. A pre-production prototype of the Nexus set off-on a long journey from Salal Dam in Jammu and Kashmir on January 16 and ended today in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.

Ampere Nexus expected details

As of now, details regarding the Ampere Nexus are scarce. However, reports suggest that the upcoming e-scooter will have four different riding modes and an LFP (Lithium Ferrous Phosphate) battery. It is expected to sit on top of the brand’s current flagship offering Primus launched in April last year.

Since it will be the new flagships, the Nexus will gain features like a large digital instrument panel, flush-mounted pillion foot pegs, all-LED illumination, and even a front disc brake. With Ampere losing the FAME II subsidy, it will be interesting to see how the company manages to price the Nexus. The Primus is currently priced at Rs 1.46 lakh and we expect Nexus to be priced around Rs 1.60 lakh (both ex-showroom).

Ampere is also offering a special K2K (Kashmir to Kanyakumari) edition of Nexus to select customers. Pre-bookings for the same are currently open at Rs 499.
