If you’re in the market for a fast electric motorcycle, then Ultraviolette F77 is definitely the first choice. And ever since it was first launched three years ago, Ultraviolette has constantly kept offering updates to the F77 not just for new but existing customers as well. The Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler startup has rolled out yet another critical update for the F77.
Ultraviolette has introduced the new GEN3 Powertrain Firmware that adds more performance to the electric motorcycle. In the latest update, the company has added a new mode called Ballistic+ to the F77 package bringing sharper throttle response
Speaking on this update, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said “For decades, vehicles, gadgets, and consumer electronics have followed a familiar trajectory where they start strong, but degrade over time. While others may practice planned obsolescence, we believe in the opposite paradigm where technology evolves and gets better with time.”

Ballistic+ mode: What is it?
Ballistic+ delivers a thrilling, high-engagement riding experience, meticulously designed to push the boundaries of electric performance. At the heart of this experience is Violette A.I., Ultraviolette’s advanced connected intelligence system, seamlessly integrated both on and off the F77 motorcycles.
Unlike conventional riding systems, Violette A.I. actively processes real-world riding data gathered from across the globe—analysing throttle inputs, rider behaviour, varied riding patterns, and diverse on-road scenarios to continually enhance and personalise the performance of Ballistic+. This mode has been designed using learnings from over 8 million km of on-road riding data.

The F77’s Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) processes over 3,000 data points in real time, enabling precise and dynamic control of the motorcycle. These data inputs are interpreted by the bike’s advanced software systems to continuously optimise the drivetrain, motor controller, and battery management system. According to Ultraviolette, this intelligent software-driven approach has allowed the F77 to unlock enhanced performance purely through optimisation—without any hardware changes.
That said, peak output of the F77 remains unchanged at 40 bhp and 100 Nm of peak torque. Battery capacity is also unchanged at 7.1 kWh for the Mach 2 and 10.3 kWh for the Mach 2 Recon and the company claims no change to the range figures either.
Speaking of which, the latest update is backwards-compatible and hence it is applicable across all variants of F77. This means every existing F77 owner will enjoy benefits from the Gen3 firmware update at no additional cost.

Ultraviolette other developments
At the start of this year, Ultraviolette launched the F77 Superstreet in India at a starting price of Rs 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This version of the electric sports bike offers different ergonomics as compared to the F77 Mach 2. A couple of months, the company announced the launch of its first adventure tourer named Shockwave and its first scooter called Tesseract priced at Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh (both ex-showroom). However, deliveries of these two models will commence only next year.
