Ultraviolette has gained widespread recognition for bringing performance to the electric two-wheeler segment.Recently, an F99 prototype broke the record of the fastest quarter mile of 10.712 seconds, thus becoming the fastest made-in-India motorcycle. The Bengaluru-based EV manufacturing startup has plans for expansion into a new segment.
A recent report by Bikewale reveals that Ultraviolette will launch a new electric motorcycle in 2025. The exact category of the motorcycle is yet to be revealed but the company will use its learnings from the current F77 Mach 2 electric motorcycle. That said, Ultraviolette showcased the Concept X at the recently concluded EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy.
A road-biased adventure concept, the Concept X was not only based on the Mach 2 in terms of looks, but also appeared to be equipped with similar hardware, battery, and motor. Since it rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with road-biased tyres and conventional suspension setup, the upcoming motorcycle would most likely be used as a touring machine rather than trail bashing.
Ultraviolette electric adventure tourer expectations
Performance levels could be on par with the F77 Mach 2 which was launched earlier this year. For reference, the F77 Mach 2 comes in two variants: standard and Recon, the former gets a 7.1 kWh battery pack while the latter gets a 10.3 kWh unit. The battery powers a mid-ship mounted electric motor which dishes out 29.7 kW (40 bhp) and 90-100 Nm of torque. The motorcycle can clock a top speed of 155 kmph.
Ultraviolette, currently a one-model company, has ambitious plans to introduce four distinct motorcycle segments in the next three years: ADV, cruiser, roadster, and supersports. The recently unveiled Concept X, a striking ADV motorcycle, generated significant interest among potential European dealers. Given the growing demand for versatile ADV bikes, it would be strategic for Ultraviolette to bring this concept to production.
We expect the Concept X to be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, While powertrain may be similar to the F77 but the adventure tourer may receive different hardware with more suspension travel, ground clearance, and steering geometry.
