TVS has announced a voluntary recall for the iQube electric scooters in the country. The recall affects iQube units manufactured between July 10, 2023 and September 09, 2023. The recall pertains to a chassis issue in which the company aims to inspect the bridge tube of all the scooters manufactured during the specified dates.
The company has not revealed the exact number of units affected with this recall, but sales figures during the said period suggest that around 45,000 units were sold in the three-month period from August to October 2023.
The Hosur-based bikemaker has revealed that it will connect with the concerned customers either directly or through its dealers. The recall will take place in a phased manner with the brand or the dealers calling the customers to schedule the inspection. If found faulty, the component(s) will be replaced free off cost to the customer.

Although only a precautionary corrective measure, the recall involves the replacement of the bridge tube component, in case if found faulty. However, in certain cases, a complete chassis replacement may be required. The official statement from TVS mentions the recall is just “to ensure that the vehicle’s ride handling is good over extended usage”.
