TVS Motor officially unveiled a brand new 299 cc liquid-cooled engine called RT-D4, which will power the company’s adventure motorcycle. The new bike, code name RTX 300, was caught testing for the second time ever since the powertrain was revealed at Moto Soul 4.0 in Goa. TVS Apache RTX 300: What’s new is revealed?
Based on the new spy images, the Apache RTX 300 sports a tall windshield, twin LED headlamps, LED turn indicators and LED tail light, a semi-faring and split seat. It appears to ride on dual-purpose tyres with a combination of 19-inch in front and 17-inch at the rear. The Apache RTX 300 is expected to come standard with a dual-channel ABS system, switchable rear ABS and multiple ride modes. Moving on to the hardware, the motorcycle could be based on a trellis frame, fully adjustable upside-down front forks and a mono shock at the rear, raised handlebars and a smart TFT display.Â
TVS Apache RTX 300: Engine Specs
The all-new 299cc liquid-cooled engine for TVS Motor’s upcoming adventure motorcycle has been developed entirely at their R&D centre in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. With an output of 34.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, it promises a well-balanced performance. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, the engine is equipped with a ride-by-wire throttle for smoother throttle response, and a slip and assist clutch for seamless gear shifts. Expected to launch in mid-2025, the Apache RTX 300 is set to take on rivals like the KTM 250 Adventure and Suzuki V-Strom SX, sitting just below the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure in terms of performance and price.
