The retro roadster class within 400 cc has never been so active in the Indian market. Last month, September saw a slew of new motorcycle launches like the Jawa 42 FJ and the Triumph Speed T4. Both iconic brands have their own fan following and are powered by a sub 400 cc liquid-cooled engine and have similar output. Triumph Speed T4 vs Jawa 42 FJ: Engine Specs
Triumph recently launched its most affordable motorcycle in its lineup, the Speed T4. It is powered by a 399-cc liquid-cool with an output of 30.6 Nm and 36 Nm of torque. The Jawa 42 FJ gets a liquid-cooling 334 cc engine that produces 29 bhp and 29.62 Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed slip and assist clutch.Â

Triumph Speed T4 vs Jawa 42 FJ: Equipment
The Speed T4 is a trimmed-down version of the Speed 400, which misses out on the traction control system and adjustable levers and ride-by-wire. It is equipped with a basic semi-digital instrument console that includes an analogue speedometer with an LCD display that reads gear position, tachometer, fuel gauge and trip and odometer. The Speed T4 sits on 17-inch alloy wheels with 43 mm front forks with 140 mm travel and a rear gas mono-shock with 120 mm travel. It comes standard with dual-channel ABS with a 300 mm front disc brake and 230 mm disc at the rear.Â
The Jawa 42 FJ has an all-digital rider’s console and a USB port for charging devices. Both the motorcycles get all LED lighting. The Jawa 42 FJ has an 18-inch wheel in front and a 17-inch rear wheel. It comes with a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm disc at the rear.
