There’s a lot of buzz over the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC. First, it was the spy shots, and now, the motorcycle’s price has been leaked ahead of its official debut. According to CarToq, the adventure-focused motorcycle will cost Rs 2.94 lakh, ex-showroom. Based on the report, Triumph dealers have already started taking booking orders. The Scrambler 400 XC will be the flagship model in Triumph’s 400 cc portfolio following the Speed T4, Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X. With the addition of the Scrambler 400 XC, the 400 cc range starts from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.94 lakh, all ex-showroom.
Triumph Scrambler 400 XC: What’s new?
The upcoming Scrambler 400 XC will add some serious off-roading traits to Triumph’s 400 cc lineup. The new motorcycle is based on the Scrambler 400 X, though it will be packed with many additional goodies. Based on the spy images, it sits on spoke wheels with tubeless tyres, 19-inch in front and 17-inch at the rear, which will be a boon for both off-roading and on the tarmac.
Showing its off-road cred, the bike will be equipped with a body coloured windscreen, knuckle guards, an aluminium under-belly plate and typical raised mud guards on adventure-based bikes. The Scrambler 400 XC could come with switchable ABS and traction control modes. Triumph is expected to introduce a range of new colour options.
Triumph Scrambler 400 XC: Engine Specs
The Scrambler 400 XC will be powered by a 398.15 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with an output of 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Triumph could offer a slip assist clutch as an optional feature. The new Scrambler 400 XC is expected to get a 320 mm front disc brake and a 230 mm disc at the rear. The new Triumph motorcycle could get a longer wheel travel to neutralise challenging and rugged terrains.
