Triumph Motorcycles has launched its fourth 400 cc bike, the Scrambler 400 XC, priced at Rs 2.94 lakh, ex-showroom. The company’s 400 cc lineup now comprises the Speed T4, Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, and the new Scrambler 400 XC. The flagship 400 XC costs Rs 27,000 more than the Scrambler 400 X.
Triumph Scrambler 400 XC: What’s new?
The Scrambler 400 XC is the more off-road-focused adventure motorcycle compared to the Scrambler 400 X. The 400 XC gets spoke wheels and tubeless tyres with 19-inch in front and 17-inch at the rear. It comes with an additional protection kit that is standard, like engine guard, sump guard, knuckle protectors, front raised fender, windshield and adjustable brake and clutch levers. The 400 XC weighs 190 kg, making it 5 kg heavier than the 400 X. The Scrambler 400 XC is available in three colour options —Racing Yellow, Storm Grey and Vanilla White.

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC: Features
The Scrambler 400 XC is equipped with switchable traction control and an off-road ABS mode for overcoming rough and challenging terrains. Apart from this, it comes with a USB-C charging port, an analogue speedometer with a multi-information LCD screen, a protective headlight grille and rubber knee pads. The suspension system uses 43mm upside-down front forks with 150mm wheel travel and a rear monoshock with 150 mm travel. It gets a 320 mm front disc brake and a 230 mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS.
Triumph Scrambler 400 XC: Engine and Price
Like the 400 cc motorcycles in the Triumph lineup, the Scrambler 400 XC is also powered by the 398 cc liquid-cooled engine. It has an output of 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gear with a torque-assist clutch.
Priced at Rs 2.94 lakh, ex-showroom, the Scrambler 400 XC competes against the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure X, priced at Rs 2.85 lakh and Rs 3.42 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively.
