The Triumph 400cc lineup has expanded in recent times, with the launch of the T4, a mellowed-down version of the Speed 400 and the launch of the Scrambler 400 XC, a more potent version of the Scrambler 400X. So if you’re in the market looking for a scrambler, a Triumph in specific, here are three reasons to buy the Scrambler 400 XC instead of the Scrambler 400X.
Triumph Scrambler 400 XC — Three reasons to buy
Design
The Triumph Speed 400 is a great-looking motorcycle, but its compact size robs away the premium feel of a big bike, however, the Scrambler 400X gives you that feel. The Scrambler 400 XC does the same, with its design — a retro look with a round headlight, a small fly screen, an up-swept exhaust, and a high front fender. Overall, the motorcycle offers all the goodies of the Scrambler 400X, with a bit more.
Equipment

The Scrambler 400 XC gets USD forks and a monoshock at the rear with 150mm travel, disc brakes at both ends, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and all-LED lighting — the same as the Scrambler 400X. It also gets the same wheel setup – 19 front and 17 rear – however, what makes the Scrambler 400 XC stand out are the wire-spoke wheels, which give the motorcycle more capability off-road.
Engine
The Scrambler 400X’s engine is the same as the Speed 400, however, it has been geared down to offer better low-end performance, and the case carries on with the Scrambler 400 XC, making it a great commuter, a capable off-roader, and a pleasant tourer. Overall, for Rs 27,000 more, you get a motorcycle that is more capable if off-roading is something you do often.
