After a favourable response from the Speed 400, Triumph has launched the Scrambler 400 X in India at a price of Rs 2.63 lakh (ex-showroom). Unveiled earlier in July this year, alongside the Speed 400, the Scrambler 400 X will be locally manufactured by Bajaj at its Chakan-based facility.
Interested buyers can book the Scrambler 400 X through Triumph’s official India website at a token amount of Rs 10,000. The bike will be retailed exclusively through Triumph World showrooms which will be ramped up to over 100 centres across the country by April 2024.
Triumph Scrambler 400 X: Design
The Scrambler 400 X is available in three colour schemes, each featuring Triumph’s distinctive ‘Scrambler’ tank stripe and triangle badge, with Matt Khaki Green and Fusion White, Carnival Red and Phantom Black, plus Phantom Black and Silver Ice options. Conceived and designed in Hinckley, United Kingdom, it takes inspiration from the scramblers of the 1950s.

The Scrambler 400 X carries the unmistakable Triumph design elements, including its signature silhouette, signature sculpted fuel tank, and classic engine profile. It comes kitted with lots of purposeful and practical features, including protection for the headlight, radiator, and sump, as well as handguards, a handlebar brace with pad, contemporary upswept silencer, dual-purpose tyres, and a longer front mudguard.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X: Specs & features
Powering the Triumph Scrambler 400 X is a 398 cc, four-valve, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine that dishes out 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox with a torque assist clutch.
Coming to hardware, the suspension setup consists of 43mm big-piston upside down forks and a rear mono-shock, both offering 150mm travel. The scrambler rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire spoke wheels. Braking duties are carried out by a 320mm front disc with a radially-mounted four-piston ByBre calliper, and a 230mm disc with a single-pot calliper on the rear wheel.

In terms of features, the Scrambler 400 X comes equipped with all-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument console, anti-theft immobiliser, and USB-C charging port. Triumph also offers a wide range of electronic aids such as traction control, switchable rear ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, etc. Besides, Triumph will be offering as many as 25 accessories, to suit a broad range of rider needs.
