The two-wheeler market continues to grow exponentially, especially with the induction of several EV players in the market in recent years. The options of consumers have increased both for the budget as well as the premium segment. The month of August will also witness some new additions in the two-wheeler market. Here are the top five new scooters and motorcycles ready to hit the roads in August.

Honda CB125 Hornet

Ex-showroom price: Rs 1.12 lakh

The month started with the launch of CB125 Hornet, Honda’s official entry into the sporty 125cc segment of motorcycles. Rivalling the likes of TVS Raider, Bajaj Pulsar N125, and Hero Xtreme 125R, the CB125 Hornet broke cover a few days ago. Powering the CB 125 Hornet is a 123.94cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 10.99 bhp and 11.2Nm of peak torque, paired with a five-speed gearbox. With a zero to 60kmph sprint timing of 5.4 seconds, Honda claims this to be the fastest 125cc motorcycle in India.

Triumph Thruxton 400

Expected Ex-showroom price: Rs 2.50 – 3.00 lakh 

Triumph Motorcycles will expand its India-made 400cc lineup with the launch of yet another product named Thruxton 400 slated for launch on August 6. Test mules of the bike have been spotted on Indian roads on numerous occasions recently. As the name suggests, the Thruxton 400 will be the first cafe racer from Triumph in the 400cc lineup. Like the other Triumph 400s, the Thruxton 400 will also be manufactured by Bajaj at its Chakan facility.

Yezdi Roadster/Scrambler

Expected Ex-showroom price: Rs 2.15 — 2.30 lakh 

Classic Legends is expected to launch not one but two Yezdi motorcycles on August 12. After updating the Yezdi Adventure earlier this year, the Mahindra-owned bikemaker will update its other two models — Roadster and Scrambler —- that have remained untouched since they were first launched in early 2022. The updates will include both visual and features updates although mechanically they are likely to remain unchanged.

Hero Xoom 160

Expected Ex-showroom price: Rs 1.48 lakh

Hero MotoCorp had unveiled its first Maxi scooter called the Xoom 160 earlier this year at the Auto Expo along with its listed price. However, more than six months have passed since its unveiling and there was no word on the Xoom 160 until recently. Pre-bookings for the Xoom 160 have commenced with deliveries expected to commence by the end of August. Its biggest highlight is a 156cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 14.6 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

Oben Rorr EZ

Expected Ex-showroom price: Rs 1.10 lakh

Oben Electric launched the Rorr EZ in November last year and now, the electric two-wheeler startup is gearing up to launch the next generation Rorr EZ. In essence it will be an updated model that will integrate advanced tech and rider-centric electronic aids. We can expect features such as traction control, ABS, cruise control, and ride modes added to the equipment.
