Scooters are popular in India, however, the country is still a motorcycle market, and two-wheeler sales over time have shown that. While scooters such as the Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, and the Suzuki Access have found immense success in India, they are not the best-sellers — it is a motorcycle. So here are the top five best-selling two-wheelers in FY25.
Best-selling two-wheelers in FY25
Leading the charge is the Hero Splendor, having sold 34,98,449 units in FY25, registering a YoY growth of 6.2 percent. The Hero Splendor has a simple, no-nonsense approach with a simple design, a fuel-efficient engine, and an extremely approachable price tag. Compared to FY25, Hero sold 32,93,324 units in FY24.
Following the Hero Splendor is the Honda Activa in second place, having registered sales of 25,20,520 units, witnessing a double-digit YoY growth of 11 percent. The Honda Activa set the ball rolling in the gearless scooter segment and now, almost every manufacturer has a gearless scooter on offer, which is a best-seller for them. Following the Activa is another Honda — Shine. The Honda Shine is available as a 100cc commuter as well as a 125cc version and together, Honda sold 18,19,311 units in FY25.
Up next — Bajaj. For the Pune-based manufacturer, the Pulsar series has become such a massive hit that there is a Bajaj Pulsar in every form, colour, style, and displacement available. Despite the massive selection of Pulsars, Bajaj has witnessed a sales decline in FY25, registering sales of 13,25,816 units compared to 14,10,974 units sold in FY24.
Rounding up the top five best-selling two-wheelers list in FY25 is the TVS Jupiter. The TVS Jupiter 110 saw a massive update recently and the changes to its design have made it look more youthful while retaining all the practicality a family scooter needs. The design has worked well, and the overall package has become more appealing, resulting in sales of 11,07,285 units in FY25.
