Scramblers have gained popularity in recent times, with companies such as Royal Enfield, Triumph, and Yezdi offering one or multiple models. Scramblers offer all the benefits of a street bike, along with the added advantage for mild off-roading, making them a versatile machine without the bulk of an adventure motorcycle.

So if you think daily commutes, highway trips, and mid off-roading is all that’s in your mind with a motorcycle, then Scramblers are the ones to choose. For that, we have five on our list to choose from.

Five scrambler motorcycles to choose from

Royal Enfield – Scram 440, Guerrilla 450, Bear 650

Royal Enfield offers three scramblers to choose from, which have three engine options as well. The first is the Scram 440, which uses an air-cooled engine — keeping things simple. The Royal Enfield Scram uses the same components as the old Himalayan 411 and the Scram 411, while its gets a larger engine — a 443cc engine that makes 25bhp. The Scram 440 was briefly paused owing to a mechanical issue, and dealers are now accepting orders again.

The next Royal Enfield on the list is the new Guerrilla 450. The motorcycle is based on a modified Himalayan platform and skips the long-travel USD forks for a traditional pair, and the spoke wheels for alloy wheels, while retaining the 450cc liquid-cooled motor that makes 40bhp. The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is a fun motorcycle to ride in the city and to have some fun when the tarmac ends, but with a limit.

In third, is the Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650, which is based on the 650cc Interceptor platform. The motorcycle gets a slightly tweaked chassis compared to the Interceptor 650, while getting long travel USD forks, dual rear shocks, a flat seat, wire-spoke wheels, and a few touches to bring the scrambler feel. At the heart of the motorcycle is the familiar 6500cc twin-cylinder engine that makes 47bhp and 56.5Nm of torque with the help of a six-speed gearbox.

Triumph Scrambler 400X

Triumph is the next choice, with the Scrambler 400X, a motorcycle that quickly gained popularity. The Scrambler 400 X gets USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends, dual-channel ABS, switchable traction control, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 19-17 wheel setup, and more. The highlight is the 398cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 40bhp with the help of a six-speed gearbox.

Yezdi Scrambler

If none of the above are to your taste, the Yezdi Scrambler may suit you. The Yezdi Scrambler has polarising styling, and we personally love it. The dual exhausts and the colour options give the motorcycle a retro look, while the high front fender and the compact tail lamp setup gives the motorcycle an interesting look. Powering the Scrambler is a 334cc liquid-cooled engine that makes 29bhp.
