Honda Activa, despite not surpassing the 2 lakh monthly sales mark as it did in June 2024, continues to be the most successful scooter in India by a significant margin. The second place was claimed by the TVS Jupiter with 74,663 units sold, which is less than half of Activa’s sales figures. Let’s examine the top five scooters for July.

Honda Activa

Honda registered 1,95,604 Activa units in July 2024, which saw a dip of 16.19 per cent compared to June 2024. Honda managed to sell 2,33,376 units of the scooters. Activa’s market share from 45 per cent came down to 37.68 per cent in July. It was all doom and gloom for the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer as it saw a massive 44.54 per cent growth Year on Year (YoY).

TVS Jupiter

TVS Motor continued to hold its momentum as it sold 74,663 units of the Jupiter in July as compared to 72,100 units in June. This is a surprise as TVS launched the facelift Jupiter 110 in July, yet customers continued to purchase the scooter. Jupiter may have seen a 4 per cent growth month on month, but it registered a healthy 12 per cent YoY growth. It sold 66,439 units in July 2023.

Suzuki Access

Close to the heels of Jupiter is the Suzuki Access as it managed to sell 71,247 units. These are impressive sales figures in that only the scooter gets a 125 cc engine while the Activa and Jupiter combine both 110 cc and 125 cc monthly sales numbers. Like a juggernaut, the Access has been gaining some serious numbers. In June, it sold 52,192 units and in comparison, the Access saw a growth of 37 per cent. Year on year, the Suzuki scooter saw a meteoric rise of 38 per cent as it sold 51,678 units in July 2023.

Honda Dio

Dio sold 33,447 units, encompassing both the 110 and 125 models. The Dio 110 model registered sales of 18,055 units, an 11 per cent increase from June 2024’s figure of 16,273 units. However, year-on-year, the 110 model saw a 12 per cent decrease from the 20,414 units sold previously. Conversely, the 125-model sold 15,417 units in July 2024, a slight decrease from June’s 16,311 units.

TVS Ntorq

The Ntorq is one of the sportiest scooters on the market. It managed to clock 26,829 units in July 2024, which is a 4 per cent drop as compared to the previous month. In June 2024, the Ntorq sold 25,839 units. Year on year, the TVS scooter ironically saw a boost of 4 per cent as it sold 25,839 units in July 2023.
