The much-awaited launch is here and Suzuki has launched the V-Strom 800DE in India at Rs 10.30 lakh, ex-showroom. The new adventure motorcycle replaces the V-Strom 650 in India and is on sale in the global markets. In India, the new Suzuki V-Strom 800DE will be available in three colour options: Champion Yellow, Glass Mat Mechanical Gray, and Glass Sparkle Black.

Suzuki V-Strom 800DE: What is it?

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is the newest adventure motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer, part of the company’s new middle-weight motorcycle that consists of the fully-faired Suzuki GSX-8R and the street-focused GSX-8S. The 800DE is the adventure model, which shares the same engine as the earlier-mentioned motorcycles.

The 800DE features proper adventure credentials with Showa suspension at both ends with 220mm travel and a ground clearance of 220mm. The suspension is adjustable at both ends while stopping power is taken care of by disc brakes in the front and rear, with a dual-channel ABS. Adding to its off-road credentials are the 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels.

In terms of electronics, the V-Strom 800DE gets ride modes, traction control with ‘gravel’ mode, ride-by-wire, a bi-directional quickshifter, an adjustable windscreen, and a low RPM assist among others. Instrumentation is taken care of by a 5-inch TFT screen.

In terms of power, the V-Strom 800DE gets a 776cc parallel-twin engine that makes 83bhp and 78Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Its primary competitors in the Indian market include the BMW F850 GS and the Triumph Tiger 900.
